RIESENHEMD Hamburg has existed for at least 20 years – in our minds, at least. We are Rosario and Dirk Lammerskötter, a married couple based in Hamburg. As you can see in the photo, I (Dirk) am very tall. And that is exactly where the idea came from.

At 197 cm, finding shirts that actually fit was a constant frustration. The designs I liked were always too short in the sleeves. And when the sleeves did fit, the shirt was invariably cut far too wide. Rosario and I kept asking ourselves the same question: why isn't anyone making stylish shirts in extra length with a proper, slim fit?

It took until 2017 for us to finally take the plunge and found our own company, Lammerskötter GmbH. The RIESENHEMD Hamburg brand was born, the webshop built, the shirt designs drafted. But above all, we searched for the right manufacturer – someone in Europe, ideally a family business, with exceptional fabrics and genuine tailoring craftsmanship. We found exactly that in Spain: a long-established company where father and son run the business together. They produce every RIESENHEMD Hamburg shirt to this day.

The webshop opened in 2018 and our shirts found their customers. Since then, we have continuously developed both the collection and the shop. We run this business alongside our other work – but with real passion.

We regularly hear from customers that the shirts fit beautifully and they love the fabrics. That never gets old.
